Thursdays horse review and bets for the darts

Another good day with 5 out of 5 lays coming in. That brings my profit now to +39 pts and growing (hopefully). A break down of my results show;

Football 3/4 (-8.6pts)
Horses 28/28 (+43pts)
Darts 2/2 (+4pts)
Golf 2/3 (+0.6pts)

I have a couple of bets for the darts tonight. Adrian Lewis has been playing consistently well and back him to beat a poor terry jenkins. I also fancy Barney to win against Si Whitlock. Barney had a poor start but is steagily improving and fancy him to get at least a draw tonight.

Lay Terry Jenkins at 5.5 (2pts)
Lay Simon Whitlock at 2.38 (1pt)

Have a good evening.

Another cracking day yesterday with all lays coming in including great perfomance by spurs in defeating arsenal for the first time in the last 20 attempts. Today provides some more quality jumps and flat action and some more punting opportunities today. The Newmarket card is tough for punters and layers as there are plenty of inexperienced horses which makes it difficult for layers. I am concentrating my laying at Cheltenham where the form is more conclusive at the end of the season

In the opener I am happy to lay Salden Licht. I think the first three will battle this out and with a good ground 2 mile probably too quick for him I am happy to lay the horse.

In the 15.20 I am happy lay My Petra. It has plenty of weight, has an awful record at Cheltenham and its hendersons second string. My only worry is AP but I still feel it is worth a lay at the current price.

In the 16.30 I am willing to lay Dennis the Legend. It has an awfu lot of weight for a horse rated 115 and aswell I am not a fan of the conditonal on board. There I feel his price is very skinny given his chances.

Also in the 14.35 at Ripon I am happy to lay to place two hopelessly out of form horses in Van Bossed and Pearly Wey.

Lay Salden Licht (3pts) at 7.4
Lay My Petra (1pt) at 16.5

Lay Dennis the Legend (3pts) at 21.0

Lay Pearly Wey at 5.0 (2pts)

Lay Van Bossed at 3.45 (2pts)

Wednesday 14th April

All lays came off yesterday with no significant concerns throughout the day. Profit is now a solid +18pts. Today there is gome great racing action including Newmarket for the flats and cheltenham for the jumps.

At the Cheltenham meet, I am laying Chebona Bula at 11.0. It has had fairly consistent form but at a rating of 110 and with a penalty to carry, I expect there to be several more progessive horses in the field. In the 15.55 handicap chase I am happy to lay Voy Por ustedes at 9.2. The horse has performed terribly this season and will be hard pressed to defy his mark of 163. In the 16.30 3m handicap hurdle I am laying the nicholls horse Theres no Panic. In maiden hurdles it has finished down the field and I cannot see it being well handicapped on 108. In the 17.05 3m1f novice chase I am happy to lay Heez a Steel. Although a four runner race and the potential to be caught out it has a lot to make up at the weights with the two runners and with the claimer unable to claim I feel it is a good price to lay at.

At Newmarket I have just the one lay for the day. I am willing to lay Quadrille in the 15.35. The horse hasnt achieved a great deal yet, winning a class 2 and a mark of 102 may be to high for the horse. Therefore I am willing to lay at 4.5.

In the football, I am happy to lay an injury-stricken Arsenal. Despite going ahead at the nou camp they were fairly poor. Tottenham will be up for it after the cup exit and would love to dump arsenal out of the title race.

Lay Chebona Bula at 11.0 (2pts)
Lay Voy Por Ustedes at 9.2 (1pt)
Lay Theres no Panic at 14.5 (2pts)
Lay Heez a Steel at 3.7 (1pt)
Lay Quadrille at 4.5 (1pt)
Lay Arsenal at 2.34 (3pts)

Monday, 12 April 2010

Despite both lays coming off yesterday, they were both very close in finishing close seconds on both occasions. However a loss is loss and has taken my profit to +11pts. Today I have couple of lays in store across the three meetings.
My first lay of the day is Dickie le Davior in the 14.20 at Pontefract. The horse is fairly consistent but is more of a staying sprinter and and I think he made need an extra furlongs on good ground. Therefore at his price this morning I am happy to have a small lay.
Second up is Aces or Better in the 15.10 at Exeter. The horse has never gone further than 26 furlongs and it is questionable whether it will stay the extra 5 furlongs. Also in the field are some potentially well handicapped horses from big yards and which is why I feel it is worth a lay at the price. In the same race I am also going to lay Boomerang. He has had a tough campaign and very poor this season. Again the horse is unexposed to the trip and I expect the extra distance not to help the horse.

In the 16.10 at Exeter, I am happy to lay Another Brother at the price. Although the quality of the field is not great, the horse is out of form and I expect it to get outpaced on the firmish ground.

The final horse I am going to lay is Delorain in the 17.00 Yarmouth. At the price it is not weighted on ratings to win and as such I am happy to lay.

It pains me to do this as a Bolton fan but I was going to lay Bolton today as I feel it is easy money. Although decent at home our away form has been awful and with a Chelsea team fully motivated in their chase for the title, I expect them to run out comfortable winners. However on looking on Betfair I found they were 34.0 to lay which is ridiculously long. Therefore I cant have that much liability and so will be leaving it alone.
I may have some football bets to add to the blog later in the day but so far here are the horses I am happy to lay today.

Lay Dickie Le Davoir at 12.5 (1pt)
Lay Aces or Better at 19.5 (2pts)
Lay Boomerang at 10.0 (2pts)
Lay Another Brother at 15.5 (1pt)
Lay Delorain at 7.4 (1pt)

Monday 12th April

After a good saturday, I had a break on Sunday in order to enjoy the masters action. Total profit is now +7pts which is a significant recovery after Wolfsburg were beaten on Thursday. The racing isnt great tomorrow but there are still some horse which I feel have no chance and as such will be happy to lay them.

In the 14.50 at Windosr I am happy to lay Captain Cool. Although from a top yard, if this were a handicap rather than a claiming stakes he would receive a weight from most of his rivals yet he is top weight here. In the 15.20 at Windsor I am happy to lay the top weight Hail Promenader despite coming from a top yard. It usually runs a consistent race but I think it is more of a speed horse and 8 furlongs and softish ground wont help the horse.
Those are my two bets for the day. I may add to these early in the afternoon if I feel there are any more opportunities to be had.
Lay Hail Promenader at 18.0 (2pts)
Lay Captain Cool at 5.5 (2pts)
Enjoy the days sport!

Friday Review and bets for Saturday 10th April

Yesterday was a good positive day with only the lay on Kenny Perry resulting in an outlay. As a result profit for the day was 6.6pts. There are many opportunites to lay today with numerous sporting events across the day. Ive started with the football.

I am laying two teams. Firstly Blackpool have got a mountain to climb at St.James Park with Newcastle in great form and a unbeaten home record to maintain. Although pushing for the playoffs I cant see them getting anything there, with a draw the best they can hope for. The other game im interested in is el clasico at the bernabeu. I have to lay Real madrid at 7/5. Although they could well win, their defensive record is poor and with them up against Messi and co I think they are going to struggle to keep a clean sheet.

At Aintree Najaf in the opener I think is too short in the market. It came second in the Albert Bartlett but I dont think the form of that race is too special. The race will have taken its toll and it comes up against the fresh horse of Bygones of Bird and the excellent Peddlars Cross.

In the 14.50 I expect Zaynar to win cosily on decent ground and the step up in trip. I am going to lay Quwetwo who beat Zaynar at Kelso but the ground was awful up there and I expect the improvment in the ground will be against him.

In the 15.25 handicap chase I am firmly against the top weight Sa Suffit. I saw him win at Haydock on soft ground where he did not jump well but outstayed the other horses to win cosily in the end. I feel with top weight he may just not be able to keep up with them and as such have to be against him especially with some other good, well handicapped horses in the field.

In the big one I would love to lay Madison du Berlais under top weight but at 66-1, I wouldnt be able to afford it if it won!

Finally I have a small lay at Wolverhampton in the 19.00. Revoltinthedesert has showed little form to date, and i expect him to be outpaced over an inadequate 6 furlongs.

Lay

Blackpool at 5.8 (4pt)
Real Madrid at 2.58 (2pt)
Sa Suffit at 17.5 (2pt)
Quwetwo at 12.0 (2pt)
Najaf at 7.2 (1pt)
Revoltinthedesert at 7.8 (1pt)

Enjoy the days Sport.

A tough day yesterday but theres always today...

Fulham let me down yesterday, producing an inspired performance to defeat a woeful Wolfsburg. Adrian Lewis fought back to defeat the improved raymond van barneveld and Simon Whitlock comfortably beat an out-of-form Terry Jenkins. Barizan again gave another performance but his exertions at Cheltenham eventually caught up with him.

Today provides another opportunity though. Im concentrating on the horses and golf threesomes and have some interesting lays over the course of the afternoon.
IN the golf, I am looking to lay golfers who dont perform up to their standard in majors and are up against two solid golfers. As such my three lays for the afternoon are
Lay Kenny Perry at 3.4 (1pt)
Lay Luke Donald at 3.0 (1pt)
Lay Matt Kuchar at 4.3 (2pts)
In the horses its the second day of the Aintree festival, and although it does not have the class of the first day, there are still some quality horses on show. In the big one at 15.10 I am laying Deep purple at 12.0 (1pt). I think his form is overated with him luckily winning some good races at the start of the season. Oh Crick is also outclassed at this standard and as such will happily lay him (2pt lay at 30.0). In the 15.45 I am laying In compliance at 25.0 (1pt). At ten years old he has plenty of weight on, probably needs a lot further given the ground conditions and although ran creditably latest, did not show anything to encourage punters. In the 16.20 I am laying Kennil Hill. The horse last ran only 8 days ago and his latest exertion, although seeing him win easily will probably have taken the edge of him. I am happy to lay him for 1pt at 16.5.
Finally I have to other small lays at other venues. These are;
Lay Kingsdine 1pt at SP (20.15 Wol)
Lay Le Briar Soul 1pt at 30.0 (16.45 Kempton)
Enjoy the days sport.
